One of the most prestigious German media holdings in the wine industry, Meininger, has selected 55 best Georgian wines at a wine competition and tasting event that was organised by the Georgian National Wine Agency and the German marketing company ff.k Public Relations.
In total 152 Saperavi wines made by traditional qvevri and classic methods from 83 different Georgian wine companies participated in the competition.
An article on the selected Georgian wines has already been published in the June issue of Meininger magazine Weinwirtschaft. In addition another article will be published on the winner Georgian wines in the magazine of the media holding Sommelier in September.
The Georgian National Wine Agency started cooperation with ff.k Public Relations this year in order to promote Georgian wine and increase its export potential in Germany.
The Georgian wine advertising campaign in Germany has been activated using various media platforms. Georgian wine tastings are being held, Georgian wines participate in various competitions, visits of wine professionals and media representatives to Georgia are planned", says the wine agency.
Germany has been added to the list of Georgian wine strategic markets since 2020.
Last year, about 700,000 bottles of wine (+ 4%) were exported from Georgia to Germany. In the first five months of this year, 314,000 bottles were exported, which is 23% more compared to the same period last year.
