Firefighters trying to put out field fires in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti municipality

Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire that broke out in the fields of Georgia’s western Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti municipality.

The press office of the Emergency Management Service (EMC) said there is a danger of the fire spreading to farms nearby.

Firefighters from Guria, Adjara and Imereti region have been mobilised to the site. The Emergency Management Service calls on the public to refrain from burning grass in the fields and arable lands. Burning grass in fields and arable lands may cause fires to spread to residential houses and forests”, reads an official statement of the EMC.
