The Georgian government has imposed several coronavirus restrictions ahead of the Easter holidays which is marked on May 2 this year.
According to the government decision municipal transport will not work across Georgia between 3-12 May.
Roads to cemeteries will be closed by police during the holiday to prevent assemblies there.
Churchgoers will have to obverse coronavirus rules during the Easter liturgy on May 1-2.
Due to the liturgy, curfew will be in effect between 23:00 of May 1 to 04:00 of May 2.
The government has already declared 4-11 May holidays.

4.03 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said last week that if more than four per cent of tested individuals test positive for coronavirus in two consecutive weeks, the government of Georgia is likely to impose coronavirus restrictions, including lockdown.
287,029 of the 304,272 patients have recovered, while 4,043 have died from the virus.
Head of the Georgian National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze says that as in many countries of the world a third wave of Covid-19 has started in Georgia as well.
Georgia has reported 359 new cases of coronavirus, 526 recoveries and six deaths in the past 24 hours.13,685 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 7,795 of the 13,685 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 5,890 were PCR tests. 2.31 per cent of tested individuals had the virus in the past 14 days.
A week following Orthodox Easter on May 4-11 has been declared public holiday in Georgia to curb the possible spread of the coronavirus. The interagency commission led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has also given out the recommendation to employers to move to remote work.

Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has stated that Georgia is expecting to receive one million doses of Pfizer vaccine in summer. Minister Tikaradze who addressed the parliament earlier today also told MPs that negotiations are also underway for Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines.

The country has had 308,834 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Today Orthodox Christians in Georgia are celebrating Easter, which is one of the most significant dates on the religious calendar. Churchgoers attended mass last night as curfew was rolled back to 11 p.m., however coronavirus regulations such as face masks and social distancing were enforced.
