Georgia’s National Tourism Administration (GNTA) will create quarantine zones for Georgian citizens returning to the country from abroad amid the outbreak of the new coronavirus – COVID-19, said GNTA head Mariam Kvrivishvili today.
The National Tourism Administration has been tasked with the creation, organization and management of quarantine zones and areas. This is quite a difficult process, but, on the other hand, we are proud of our ability to provide the Georgian citizens with maximum comfort in the mandatory quarantine zones”, said Kvrivishvili.
Kvrivishvili said that while being transferred from airports to hotels, passengers will be placed outside of a one-meter radius zone from one another.
We have already rented out 22 hotels across the country. Everything is being done to create comfort for our citizens in the quarantine zones, as they have to stay in a single room for 14 days. We are proud that we have a lot of positive feedback from our citizens every day who appreciate that the state cares for them”, said Kvrivishvili.
At this moment 1600 individuals have been placed under quarantine throughout Georgia.
Georgia has reported two new cases of COVID-19 earlier today, with the total number of infected people with the respiratory infection now standing at 39.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with one already recovered and discharged.
