Some changes are being applied to the entry requirements for truck drivers from coronavirus high-risk countries.
If a driver from the coronavirus high-risk country is transporting goods through the territory of Georgia to a third country, they will be escorted by the Patrol Police between the entry and exit customs crossing points of Georgia.
When importing goods to Georgia, there are two possible scenarios for drivers upon arrival to the country.
At the customs crossing point, drivers will be replaced by another driver who is not from the country where the coronavirus is highly spread.
Also, the transport vehicle will be sanitised, or the goods will be put onto another truck from a non-risk country.
Customs procedures remain unchanged for truck drivers from countries where the coronavirus is not highly spread, whether they are importing or transporting cargo to a third-country destination.
However, drivers may be screened at the border. If they are found to display symptoms of the coronavirus, they will not be allowed to enter the country.
If the driver is a Georgian citizen, they will be placed in quarantine in the country.
