Turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia were Georgia's top trading partners in January-February 2020, show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Trade turnover with Turkey reached $250.6 million, $226 million with Azerbaijan and $199 million with Russia.
In the reporting period the share of the top ten trading partners in Georgia’s total external trade turnover amounted to 70.9 per cent.
Overall, Georgia’s external trade turnover increased to $1.85 billion in January-February 2019. This was six per cent higher compared to the same period of 2019.
The value of exports increased by 4.5 per cent and reached $526.3 million, while imports also increased by 6.7 per cent and amounted to $1.32 billion.
The negative trade balance was $801.3 million in January-February 2020 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 43.2 per cent, said Geostat.
