Foreign citizen detained for smuggling drugs into Georgia

The Georgian police have detained one foreign citizen for the illegal purchase and possession of 220 pills of Subutex in the Kvemo Kartli region. The Interior Ministry released the video of detention, without specifying the nationality of the detainee.

Georgian police officers have detained one individual for drug offences in the west  Georgian town of Poti today.

Police have detained three Georgian citizens for the purchase and possession of over 22 gr of heroin and 50 pills of methadone in the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara. Police have seized illegal firearms and ammunition in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi as well.

Police have detained a Georgian citizen for violence against his wife in the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara today. The individual, identified only as G.Kh. and born in 1982, verbally insulted and physically attacked her wife in the small town of Chakvi in Kobuleti Municipality.

Police have detained a Georgian citizen for bride kidnapping in the town of Marneuli, Kvemo Kartli region. The Georgian Interior Ministry reported today that the individual, identified only as G.M. and born in 1998, kidnapped a girl, to force her to marry him.

One individual has been detained in Tbilisi  for drug possession and trafficking. 

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has destroyed narcotic and psychoactive substances worth 6.5 mln GEL ($2.3 mln/€2.1 mln) which were seized in 765 cases of drug deals, says the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 

Three individuals have been imprisoned for drug trafficking through the internet.
