Hungarian lowcoster Wizz Air is planning to restart flights in Georgia starting March 2021 and to add new destinations as well.
First around 40 destinations will be restored that were serviced before the pandemic, said Andras Rado Wizz Air Corporate Communications Manager, noting that the final decision is yet to be made and it is based on the epidemiological situation and the restrictions which will be in Georgia at that time.
Air traffic in Georgia was completely suspended in March 2020, after which only Georgian Airlines operated in the country for several months and carried out special flights in order to return Georgians from foreign countries back to their homeland.
Back in early July Georgia opened its borders for travellers from five countries which are Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
