Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will restore flights to Kutaisi Airport this month to several green-list destinations, while Irish low-cost airline Ryan Air will restore flights starting late October or early November, said Economy Minister Natia Turnava to Euronews Georgia, noting that the negotiations to both airline companies are underway.
We are restoring flights gradually. In September, about 90 flights are planned. In the coming days we will make a decision regarding the resumption of regular flights of Wizz Air very carefully and gradually to safe destinations, while negotiations are being carried out with Ryan Air,” said Turnava.
She also noted that regular flights will be restored gradually within several months.
Georgia has opened its borders for travellers from Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia.
All five countries have also opened borders for Georgia.
In addition, Georgia is on a list of countries to enter the European Union as of July 1.
