Georgian hazelnuts exports up 39% as of November 15

Georgia has exported 10,179 tonnes of hazelnuts between August 1 and November 15, which is a 39 per cent increase compared to the same period of last year, announces the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.

The value of exports increased by 50 per cent and reached $53.8 million, said the ministry.

Georgian hazelnuts were exported to these EU countries:

Germany (2,977 tonnes)
Italy (1,966 tonnes)
Czechia (550 tonnes)
Poland (320 tonnes)
Spain (308 tonnes)
Lithuania (289 tonnes)
Bulgaria (279 tonnes)
France (218 tonnes)
Greece (97 tonnes)
Estonia (88 tonnes)
Slovakia (64 tonnes)
Latvia (62 tonnes)
Luxembourg (60 tonnes)
Austria (22 tonnes)
Croatia (10 tonnes)

Georgian hazelnuts were also exported to:

Turkey (530 tonnes)
Armenia (497 tonnes)
Russia (496 tonnes)
Belarus (240 tonnes)
Brazil (186 tonnes)
Ukraine (176 tonnes)
Algeria (173 tonnes)
Canada (114 tonnes) and others.

About 50,000 tonnes of high quality hazelnuts are expected to be harvested in Georgia this year, announces the Ministry of Agriculture.
