Georgia has exported 2,149 tonnes of apples worth $947,000 between August 1 and October 11, announces the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.
The volume of apple exports is six times higher than it was in the same period of 2019, while the value of exports increased by $713,000, said the ministry.
Export of apples were also made to Singapore and Hong Kong, said the ministry.
The ministry said that within the state programme 'Plant the Future' apple gardens were cultivated on 1,128 ha in Georgia and state financing exceeded over 9 million GEL.
