Georgia exports 23,109 tonnes of peaches and nectarines

Georgia has exported 23,109 tonnes of peaches and nectarines as of August 25 which is 85 per cent more than in the same period of last year, when 12,556 tonnes of peaches and nectarines were exported, announces the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.

Georgian peaches and nectarines were mainly exported to:

  • Russia - 14,906 tonnes
  • Armenia - 7,202 tonnes 
  • Azerbaijan - 567 tonnes
  • Kazakhstan - 112.9 tonnes
  • Ukraine - 99 tonnes
  • Moldova - 89.6 tonnes
  • Poland - 74 tonnes
  • Slovenia - 57.3 tonnes
  • Singapore - 0.04 tonnes

Last year Georgia exported 13,256 peaches and nectarines in the following countries:

  • Russia  - 10,777 tonnes
  • Armenia - 1,373 tonnes
  • Azerbaijan - 667 tonnes
  • Ukraine - 150 tonnes
  • Kazakhstan - 114 tonnes
  • Slovenia - 78 tonnes
  • Iraq - 39 tonnes
  • Iran - 20 tonnes
  • Moldova - 19 tonnes
  • Belarus - 18 tonnes
  • Qatar - 0.4 tonnes

There are 11 fruit processing factories operating in Georgia with the co-financing of the Ministry of Agriculture.
