Georgian hazelnuts exports up 50% as of October 18

Georgia has exported 7,007 tonnes of hazelnuts between August 1 and October 18, which is a 50 per cent increase compared to the same period of 2019, announces Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.

The exports generated more than $37.6 million in revenue, marking a $13.9 million increase compared to the same period of 2019.

The ministry says that Georgian hazelnuts were exported to these EU countries:

Germany (2,145 tonnes)
Italy (1,307 tonnes)
Czechia (404 tonnes)
Poland (254 tonnes)
Bulgaria (220 tonnes)
Lithuania (182 tonnes)
France (169 tonnes)
Spain (165 tonnes)
Greece (97 tonnes)
Estonia (66 tonnes)
Latvia (62 tonnes)
Austria (22 tonnes)
Slovakia (15 tonnes)
Croatia (10 tonnes)

Also, the export of Georgian hazelnuts was made to these countries as well:

Swiss chocolate producer Camille Bloch, which made a 40 million GEL investment in the Kakheti region of Georgia and planted hazelnut orchards on 50 ha of land, expects its first hazelnut harvest by 2025. Hazelnuts harvested in Georgia will be used for Camille Bloch’s famous chocolates.
