Kindergartens will be opened on October 12 throughout Georgia, excluding the Adjara region, as most of the newly infected cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the region in the recent weeks.
A month ago, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced that kindergartens would be opened on October 1 in Georgia, though, due to the sharp increase in coronavirus cases, the Georgian government had to postpone the date of the opening.
Universities and vocational schools will begin in-person studies on October 19 throughout Georgia, excluding the Adjara region, while school students of the grades one to six will be able to begin in-person studies on October 1.
However, Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli noted that parents of school students who will be studying in person will have the ability to decide to have their children transfer to remote studies.
