Thirteen employees of Georgian Interior Ministry have tested positive for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours. Ten of the 13 new cases were from the country’s coastal Adjara region.
The remaining two infected employees of the ministry are from Tbilisi and one from Samegrelo region of western Georgia.

Georgia has reported 193 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and announced the death of a 20th patient since the country confirmed its first case of the coronavirus at the end of February 2020.
Georgia has had 3,635 cases of the coronavirus so far.
1,534 of the 3,635 patients have recovered, while 20 others have died.
As of today 2,142 individuals remain infected with COVID-19 in the country.
Tents will be set up in Tbilisi at different locations where citizens will be able to undergo voluntary coronavirus testing, the National Disease Control Centre (NCDC) announced earlier today.

The 60-year-old woman who has died of the virus was earlier transported from Georgia’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region in critical condition. A public school in Senaki, in the Samegrelo region of western Georgia, has had to switch to remote learning as a teacher and two pupils have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Georgian Interior Ministry has announced that 11 of its employees in various departments have tested positive for the coronavirus. The ministry also noted that all of them were delivered to hospitals for further treatment.
Georgia’s Black Sea region of Adjara has increased testing in the region following several infections in a night club in Kobuleti on August 15.
Georgia has reported 218 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today which is the highest figure on record since the country confirmed its first case of the virus on February 26, 2020. Two individuals have died of the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 22. Both patients who have died of Covid-19 were elderly individuals from Batumi, Adjara region of Georgia, who suffered from several underlying diseases.
Due to the large number of coronavirus tests being performed, the test results delay has been increased to about three days, announces Deputy Health Minister of Georgia Tamar Gabunia.
A 23rd patient died of the coronavirus in Georgia earlier today. The country has reported three new deaths in the past 24 hours.
