A 23rd patient has died of the coronavirus in Georgia earlier today.
The country has reported three new deaths in the past 24 hours.
The patient had been earlier transported from the country's occupied Abkhazia region in a critical condition.
Georgia reported 218 new infections earlier today.
The country has had 3,913 cases of the coronavirus since February 2020.
1,574 of the 3,913 patients have recovered, while 23 others have died.
As of today 2,316 people remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.
The government currently has no plans to declare a national lockdown for a second time.
Georgia has reported 218 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today which is the highest figure on record since the country confirmed its first case of the virus on February 26, 2020. Two individuals have died of the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 22. Both patients who have died of Covid-19 were elderly individuals from Batumi, Adjara region of Georgia, who suffered from several underlying diseases.
Thirteen employees of Georgian Interior Ministry have tested positive for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours. Ten of the 13 new cases were from the country’s coastal Adjara region.
Tents will be set up in Tbilisi at different locations where citizens will be able to undergo voluntary coronavirus testing, the National Disease Control Centre (NCDC) announced earlier today.

The Georgian National Centre for Disease Control is inviting people living in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi to take part in voluntary free testing for Covid-19 which will be held at the House of Justice on September 22 and 23, announces Head of the centre Amiran Gamkrelidze.
An employee of Adjara TV, a Batumi-based regional public television channel, has tested positive for coronavirus. Head of Adjara TV news department Vakho Khuzmiashvili said the infected individual had direct contact with four other employees, who will go into self-isolation.
