Georgia reports 28 new coronavirus cases, 15 recoveries

Georgia has reported 28 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today.
The number of recoveries has increased by 15, reaching 1,294.
Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that 12 new patients contracted the virus from the cluster of candy shop Dona in Georgia's Black Sea resort town of Batumi, three from contact from infected individuals, three are medical workers from Aversi clinic in Rustavi, two cases are ‘imported’ of which one is a truck driver, four patients have travelled in Adjara region and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining four cases.
Currently, 275 people are undergoing treatment at Covid centres of which three are in critical and 16 are in severe condition", said Ezurgbaia.

In total 19 people have died of the virus in the country, 6,250 people are in quarantine, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.

Two employees of Nikora supermarket at Vazha-Pshavela Avenue close to Medical University metro station as well as five employees of Zgapari supermarket at Rustavi Highway have been infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.
