A Turkish citizen who attended a meeting with representatives of NATO troops at Georgia’s Black Sea Port of Poti tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday.
Other Turkish, Georgian and American representatives of NATO troops also attended the meeting.
The Deputy Director of the Poti Public Health Centre Zinaida Gagua said that a total of 13 people attended the meeting, including two employees of the Poti Port, who were tested for COVID-19 yesterday and that their test results will be known at the end of the day.
The Turkish citizen was hospitalised in the Batumi Infectious Disease Hospital… Both employees of the Poti seaport have self-isolated themselves. Their health condition is satisfactory as of now”, said Zinaida Gagua.
The meeting was organised by the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.
The port administration noted that the meeting was held in full compliance with COVID-19 safety standards and that the area was disinfected.
