Georgia reports 20 new coronavirus cases, 9 recoveries

Georgia has reported 20 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today.
The number of recoveries has increased by nine, reaching 1,279.
Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that eight new patients contracted the virus from contact from infected individuals, one is a medical worker, seven cases are ‘imported’ of which four are truck drivers and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining four cases.
Currently 262 people are undergoing treatment at Covid centres of which three are in critical and 16 are in severe condition", said Ezurgbaia.

In total 19 people have died of the virus in the country, 6,185 people are in quarantine, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 1,568 cases of the coronavirus.
Two employees of Nikora supermarket at Vazha-Pshavela Avenue close to Medical University metro station as well as five employees of Zgapari supermarket at Rustavi Highway have been infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

Georgia has reported 38 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, which is a record high number since April 16 when 42 cases of coronavirus were detected. 22 new patients contracted the virus from the cluster of confectionery Dona in Georgia's Black Sea resort town of Batumi, seven cases from contact from infected individuals, four cases were ‘imported’ of which two are truck drivers and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining five cases.
