Seventy-two per cent of COVID-19 patients have recovered in Georgia, with only 193 people remaining infected with the virus, Director of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Ezugbaia stated earlier today.

Georgia has had 731 confirmed cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

526 of the patients have recovered, while 12 others have died.

The number of recovered people significantly outnumber the infected individuals,” Ezugbaia said.

Georgia has already lifted the state of emergency and curfew restrictions.

Only several restrictions are still in force for the government to keep the situation under control.

The Georgian parliament has adopted a bill which allows the government to re-impose restrictions without the parliament’s consent only temporarily, up until July 15.
