Georgia reports just one new case of coronavirus, 193 remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia

Georgia has reported just one new case of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 731.
526 of the patients have recovered, while 12 others have died.
As of May 25, 193 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

Six of the 193 people are in critical condition.
Director of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Ezugbaia said that doctors have used blood plasma treatment to cure a 80-year-old patient who was in critical condition.
We used the plasma of the recovered individual in the process. The woman feels much better now,” Ezugbaia said.

Georgia has already lifted the state of emergency and curfew restrictions.
Only several restrictions are still in force for the government to keep the situation under control.
The Georgian parliament has adopted a bill which allows the government to re-impose restrictions without the parliament’s consent only temporarily, up until July 15.
Two people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of cases to 730 in the country. Meanwhile, 13 infected individuals have recovered bringing the total recoveries to 522.
The Georgian government has brought back a total of 12,477 citizens from different coronavirus-hit areas in the world since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani announced yesterday that the prime minister’s interagency coordination council has spared no efforts to bring back all fellow citizens who wanted to return to Georgia.
The Council of the European Union has adopted a decision to provide €150 million in macro-financial assistance package to help Georgia ‘cope with the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic’. Georgia is among the ten enlargement and neighbourhood partners of the EU which will receive the financial assistance 'in the form of loans on highly favourable terms'.
Georgian doctors have used plasmapheresis, a method of treating blood plasma, to cure a COVID-19 patient who was in critical condition.
Seventy-two per cent of COVID-19 patients have recovered in Georgia, with only 193 people remaining infected with the virus, Director of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Ezugbaia stated earlier today. Georgia has had 731 confirmed cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 526 of the patients have recovered, while 12 others have died.
