Georgia confirmed 11 new cases of the coronavirus and 24 recoveries over the last 24 hours.
As of May 30, the country has a total of 757 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 600 recoveries and 12 deaths.
The number of infected individuals stands at 145, however, two Austrian citizens who tested positive for the coronavirus back in March returned to their country.
The Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia told journalists today that the sources of infection for all the new patients belong to already identified ‘clusters’.

In his parliamentary address yesterday, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia again spoke on how the Georgian government has assisted the citizens during the time of the coronavirus.
- 72,175 individuals (who lost jobs due to the crisis) have already received 200 GEL monthly aid (which they will receive for six months).
- 52, 151 self-employed people have received one-time 300 GEL aid.
- 22,644 families with many children and poor families have received financial aid, as well as more than 40,000 people with disabilities.
- 18,000 farmers have bought diesel at low prices, 27,000 farmers have used various support programmes and 38,000 people have managed to postpone paying customs fees for their vehicles.
Meanwhile, a total of 12,477 citizens have been brought from different coronavirus-hit areas in the world since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Georgia has reported eight new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 746. 576 of the 746 patients have recovered, while 12 others have died. As of today, 158 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia. All municipal transport systems – busses, metro, marshrutkas and cableways – have resumed today. Passengers must wear face masks while using the municipal transport.
Following the spread of coronavirus, credit activity has slowed significantly in Georgia and this year credit portfolio growth will shrink between 0 and 5%, announces the National Bank of Georgia.
Georgian doctors have used plasma treatment to help an 83-year-old COVID-19 patient in nearly terminal condition. "Now she feels much better,” head of Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases Tenngiz Tsertsvadze has stated. He said that it is the second case in which plasma treatment has worked with critical patients. "One individual has been cured with the help of plasma treatment. We are waiting for positive results in terms of the 83-year-old patient as well,” Tsertsvadze stated.
Seventy-two per cent of COVID-19 patients have recovered in Georgia, with only 193 people remaining infected with the virus, Director of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Ezugbaia stated earlier today. Georgia has had 731 confirmed cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 526 of the patients have recovered, while 12 others have died.
The Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia told journalists today that 18 of the infected individuals are from the village of Mushevani in quarantined Bolnisi municipality in eastern Georgia.
