Confirmed cases of coronavirus reach 148 in Georgia, 27 patients recovered

The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus have reached 148 in Georgia, including the 27 patients who have recovered.
As of now there are 119 individuals inside the country who are infected with the virus (two of the 148 were foreign citizens who are no longer in the country).
5,392 are under quarantine and 319 others in hospitals in the country.
More than one million people have been infected with COVID-19 worldwide.
Most of the cases have been reported in the US, Italy, Spain, Germany and China.

From Georgia’s neighbouring countries Turkey has had 18,135 confirmed cases, Armenia - 663 cases, Russia - 3,548 cases and Azerbaijan - 400 cases.
The eleventh individual has recovered from the new coronavirus in Georgia out of the 79 confirmed cases. A month after February 26 when the first individual had tested positive for COVID-19, the country now has 66 infected people.
The Georgian Interior Ministry announced that text messages from “UCKEBA” contain false information about fining individuals for violating the curfew. The Ministry said they did not send any text messages and that therefore the content is completely false.
Three more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Georgia, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 134. As of now, 106 patients are infected, 26 individuals have recovered, while two foreign citizens have left to their country.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has thanked EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell and US Ambassador Kelly Degnan for their efforts to provide rapid support for Georgia in the fight against the coronavirus. Gakharia said that the support of the country’s partners will be particularly essential in the post-crisis period to help the economy.
Some streets in Tbilisi were sanitised last night to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus and ensure the safety of citizens, says Tbilisi City Hall. The streets which were sanitised last night were Pekini Avenue, Kostava street and the central streets in Varketili.
