Georgian wheelchair fencer Irma Khetsuriani has added yet another gold medal to her collection at the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Pisa, Italy.

Khetsuriani is Georgia’s first female wheelchair fencer. She was left wheelchair-bound after suffering from a spinal disease but found her calling when Georgia’s Paralympic Committee suggested she try wheelchair fencing.
While most competitors specialised in one of the three types of fencing weapons – Sabre, Foil and Épée – Khetsuriani competed in all three categories.
Khtsuriani and two other members of the Georgian team, Nina Tibilashvili and Gvantsa Zadishvili, also participating in the event, will compete in Foil category B today.
