Georgian wheelchair fencer Irma Khetsuriani has won her fourteenth gold medal in Sharjah, UAE, where the first world cup of 2019 as part of the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) World Games is underway.
Irma Khetsuriani succeeded in the B category group competition and was awarded the right to compete in the playoffs.
She beat Thai and Chinese rivals to reach the final.
Irma Khetsuriani won out against Ukrainian rival Olena Fedota in a tense final battle.
The final score was 15:10 in favor of the Georgian wheelchair fencer.
The competition will end on 16 February.
