Rescue workers receive 100 calls as severe winds hit Georgia

Firefighters and rescuers received 100 calls on March 17 as severe winds struck Georgia, largely in Tbilisi.

The Emergency and Operative Response Center reports that the wind damaged roofs of 15 buildings, 10 vehicles, 14 trees, 4 ad billboards and traffic lights in Georgia’s capital city.

Strong wind also hit Georgia in January 2019 and took down trees and billboards in the coastal city of Batumi, western Georgia.
