The Gudauri-Kobi road section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi route, connecting Georgia to Russia, has been temporarily closed to trucks and semi-trucks due to bad weather.
There is a snowstorm and low visibility for now, the Georgian Interior Ministry has reported.

The road section is frequently closed to all vehicles or certain types of vehicles starting in the end of autumn to late spring due to snowstorms and threats of avalanche.
Firefighters and rescuers received 100 calls on March 17 as severe winds struck Georgia, largely in Tbilisi.
Passenger cars are now allowed on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the road to the Russian border as a result of snow clearing work which has been carried out since morning.
The passengers of a bus coming from Kazbegi Municipality and about 10 cars that encountered problems because of snow near Gudauri have already left the scene and departed for Tbilisi.
