Georgian law enforcers have seized 10 kg of heroin this year, the Georgian Interior Ministry says.
This year ministry employees have also seized:
- 1.2 kg of cocaine.
- 650 pills of subutex and suboxone.
- More than 1,000 pills of ecstasy.
- 100 grams of psychotropic drugs.
The ministry says that 275 individuals have been charged with drug-related crimes starting from 1 January 2019.

Georgian police have seized a methadone substance in especially large quantities in the Georgian region of Samegrelo today. The operation ended up with the arrest of one individual identified only as T.M. born in 1976. The detainee faces from eight to twenty years or life in jail.
The Georgian Interior Ministry has burnt drugs worth nine million GEL ( three million dollars),seized in the investigation of 676 cases.
