Seven detained for online drug trafficking, four from one family
676 individuals have been detained for drug crimes in Georgia over the past four months.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained seven individuals for online drug trafficking, four are a family of a mother, father and two children.
Police seized 2,125 packages of different drugs from the group.
The detainees were selling drugs via the shop named MEGASHOP, registered on the internet platform Matanga,” the ministry reported.
The crime is punishable by eight to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
The ministry says that from January 1, 2019 up to now 676 individuals have been detained for drug crimes, 55 were drug dealers.
In the past four months police have seized:
- 13 kg heroin.
- 1,530 pills subutex and suboxone.
- 2,400 pills of ecstasy.
- More than 5 kilogrammes of psychoactive substances.
- 1.4 kg cocaine.
- 350 grams of psychotropic substances.
Georgian law enforcers have seized up to 10 kg heroin this year, the Georgian Interior Ministry says.
