Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who is visiting Germany on February 20-21, has met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and spoke about the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, Russia’s policy towards Georgia and the country’s challenges.
At the meeting Zurabishvili said that Georgia does not have the “tools to resolve the current situation” and that the country is depended on its friends to influence and pressure Russia to change its position.
Our position is for Georgia’s friends and partners – the Germans, French, Americans – to be more actively engaged in the dialogue and repeat to Russia and somehow make it understand that it is necessary to change its position”, Zurabishvili said, following the meeting with Merkel.
