Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili met with the Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis in Vilnius today.
At the meeting they spoke of their countries’ trade and economic cooperation, bilateral sectoral ties, and cultural relations.
They also named a number of spheres, including agriculture, tourism, infrastructural technologies and innovations, in which Georgia and Lithuania will further cooperate.

Zurabishvili and Skvernelis spoke also on the situation in the occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia), Russia’s provocative steps, importance of EU Monitoring Mission and the Geneva International Discussions.
President Zurabishvili thanked Lithuania for supporting her country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

During her visit to Lithuania, President Zurabishvili also met with the Speaker of the Seimas Viktoras Pranckietis.
Zurabishvili and Pranckietis positively assessed their countries’ strategic partnership and close cooperation on bilateral and multilateral parliamentary levels.

Later on, President Zurabishvili attended a special reception held in her honour, which was hosted by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
