Georgian Ambassador to Jordan Zaza Kandelaki met with the mayor of Amman Dr. Yousef Shawarbeh on 24 January to discuss the relationship of and future cooperation between the two countries.
Kandelaki informed the mayor of Amman about Georgia’s investment and business opportunities and the close relations between the two capitals were underlined at the meeting.
Invited by Tbilisi City Hall, the Jordan delegation has attended the celebration of the annual Tbilisoba festival several times in the past years.

The relations between the two countries were brought to a new level in September 2015, when the members of the countries’ parliaments agreed on cooperation in education, economy and tourism.
Notably, Queen Rania of Jordan came on an unofficial visit to Tbilisi in 2015.
Later, Mercedes Benz fashion week Tbilisi official Instagram channel published a photo in which Queen Rania was wearing a dress of Matériel – a Georgian brand. The image went viral on Georgian social media.
From a religious and tourism point of view Jordan is especially attractive for Georgians. Besides Petra, there are many places of interest for Orthodox pilgrims.
Two airlines connect Jordan directly with Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports and the number of visitors from both countries is increasing year by year.
