Jordanian Major General Youssef Ahmed Al-Hnaity is paying his first official visit to Georgia.
At the meeting held earlier today, the Minister of Justice of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze and Jordanian Major General Youssef Ahmed Al-Hnaity discussed future plans for defence cooperation between the two countries and signed a defence deal for closer military cooperation.
Burchuladze and Al-Hnaity underlined the importance of aspirations of Georgia and Jordan for NATO membership.

Prior to the meeting with the Defence Minister of Georgia, the Jordanian Major General was hosted by his Georgian counterpart, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili.

During the meeting with the Jordanian high official, Garibashvili noted that Georgia attaches great importance to the friendly relations with Jordan and thanked Al-Hnaity for his unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Georgian Ambassador to Jordan Zaza Kandelaki met with the mayor of Amman Dr. Yousef Shawarbeh on 24 January to discuss the relationship of and future cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met with the Jordanian Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez today. The two leaders spoke of enhancing bilateral cooperation between their countries.
With both parties supporting the idea of closer parliamentary cooperation, the Jordanian officials noted their country was ready to help facilitate new Arabian investments to Georgia and open its university doors to Georgian students.
The Georgian government will set up a commission for developing the concept for a Georgian cultural centre near the site of the baptism of Jesus Christ in Jordan, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Monday.
