Tbilisi Art Fair (TAF) will be held in Tbilisi on May 17-20, the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) has announced. The event will take place at Expo Georgia.
As a part of the larger Check in Georgia project, which covers a series of cultural events with the support of the Georgian government, TAF will host more than 25 galleries and 35 independent artists from all over the world. Participants include Galeria Valid Foto BCN, the Rooster Gallery, ERTI Gallery and Project ArtBeat.
"TAF will be the place for collectors, curators, journalists and art professionals to discover under one roof selected artists and galleries from Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Turkey, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Romania, Belarus...and the World, " the project website says.
The works for Tbilisi Art Fair are being curated by a group of invited experts to ensure that they are of high quality.
Members of TAF’s board include Rita Janssen, advisor for international cultural cooperation for BOZAR and Nicolas V. Iljine, who participated in the creation of museum projects such as Guggenheim Bilbao, Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin, Guggenheim-Hermitage in Las Vegas and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
The objective of TAF Tbilisi is to stimulate sales, networking, exhibition projects and institutional partnerships.
