Book enthusiasts in London can get an impression of some of the latest Georgian literature at next month’s London Book Fair at an updated booth hosting two exhibitors.

The Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association (GPBA) will host visitors at the Olympia London fairgrounds, at a stand designed to showcase the country's cultural profile.

Supported in its representation at the event by the Georgian National Book Centre, the booth is themed after the concept Georgia Made by Characters, which introduces key facts and figures about the country through its alphabet.

Launched in the fall of last year, the concept was designed in the run-up to this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, where Georgia will be hosted as the official Guest of Honour.

It will be set up in the area 5D118 of Olympia London and host readers and literature professionals from April 10-12.

With the GPBA taking part in the fair, Georgia will be represented at the event for the sixth time.

Literary agencies, publishers and authors from Georgia are marking a particularly significant year for showcasing literature from the country at international events.

Earlier this month over 20 Georgian authors travelled to meet readers at the Leipzig Book Fair in Germany.

Tracing its roots back to the 1970s, the London Book Fair is marking its 47th anniversary this year.
