A Georgian national stand with up to 200 new book editions, the latest foreign language translations, and catalogues of Georgian publishers will be showcased next month at London Book Fair.
Literature enthusiasts will also be able to gain insight into the latest research on the Georgian book market at the stand, Writers’ House of Georgia announced on Tuesday.
Organised by the literature institution along with the Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association, the national stand will also present works by Georgian illustrators Giorgi Gagoshidze, Sonia Eliashvili, Giorgi Jincharadze and Teona Chanishvili in support of Ukraine against the Russian invasion.

Tracing its roots back to the 1970s, the Fair hosts more than 25,000 publishing professionals annually.
Georgian illustrators and children’s writers, along with a stand organised by the UNESCO programme Tbilisi - World Book Capital, will be hosted at this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair - an international event dedicated to children's publishing and multimedia industry - between March 21-24 in Italy.
The pandemic-hit years have impacted the Georgian publishers and booksellers through reduced sales and released books, with the first year of Covid resulting in a 25 percent reduction of new releases and the past two years showing a 40 percent decrease in book sales, a new study of the sector shows.
Titles by Georgian authors and publishers from the country are set to be introduced to readers in Europe as major book fairs in London and Leipzig host literature fans this month.
