Remittances to Georgia increased 14.8 percent y/y in June

More than $135 million was sent to Georgia from abroad during June of this year which is a 14.8 percent increase in remittances y/y.

As seen in the National Bank of Georgia data, most of the remittances to Georgia come from Russia: 29 percent of total remittances or $39 million.

Italy comes in second with $15.6 million and US third with $14.2 million.

On the other hand, 17.9 million dollars have been sent from Georgia to foreign countries during the past month.

  • Russia - 39.2 mln USD (29%)
  • Italy - 15.6 mln USD (11.5%)
  • US - 14.2 mln USD (10.5%)
  • Greece - 13.9 mln USD (10.3%)
  • Israel - 13.3 mln USD (9.8%)
  • Turkey – 9.7 mln USD (7.2%)
  • Germany – 3.6 mln USD (2.7%)
  • Spain – 3.5 mln USD (2.6%)
