Georgia’s monthly inflation rate amounted to -0.6 percent in June 2018, while compared to the previous month the Consumer Price Index (annual inflation) posted a 2.2 percent increase, reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Last month prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 2.6 percent.
Prices decreased for the following subgroups:
In the meantime, prices increased for meat (0.9 percent).
As for transport related costs it increased by 0.8 percent.
The prices were up for subgroups of operation of personal transport equipment (1.5 percent) and was lower for the subgroup of purchase of vehicles (-2.1 percent).
In the group of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, prices also increased by 1.1 percent. Prices within the group increased for tobacco (1.6 percent).
