Georgia’s monthly inflation rate amounted to 0.6 percent in January 2018, reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
This was a 4.3 percent increase in comparison to January 2017.
Last month prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 1.7 percent and contributed 0.52 percentage points to the overall Consumer Price Index (annual inflation) change, said Geostat.
The prices were higher for the following subgroups:
Prices in the group of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, increased by 2.7 percent, contributing 0.21 percentage points to the overall CPI change.

The cost of clothing and footwear decreased by 2.1 percent, contributing -0.08 percentage points to the overall CPI change.
