The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has issued a 10 GEL (Georgian lari) silver collector coin, dedicated to the 100th anniversary from the creation of the first Democratic Republic of Georgia in 1918.
A fluttering national flag and the state emblem, the heraldic symbols of Democratic Republic of Georgia in the years of 1918-1921, is the main composition of the coin.
The front side of the coin will read: "26 May”, "1918”, "Democratic Republic of Georgia”, "10 lari”, in Georgian.
The reverse side of the coin will also feature the current Coat of Arms of Georgia, with the inscriptions "Georgia”, "10 lari” and "2018” in Georgian.
The National Bank of Georgia was exceptionally proud to work on this project, as Georgia's independence is a fundamental value that has a major role in the development of our society” said the Head of National Bank of Georgia Koba Gvenetadze, while presenting the collector coins today.
The coin has been struck in FNMT-RCM, Mint of Spain, said the NBG.
The price of the coin is 100 GEL and can be purchased at the National Bank of Georgia Cash Centre and Money Museum in Kvareli. The coin can also be purchased via the online store.
