New railway to shuttle to Kutaisi International Airport

Georgian Railway is adding a new branch to its main line to reach Kutaisi International Airport which is known for its cheap international flights to other European countries.

Today the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili will lay the foundation for the new line that will start from the capital of Tbilisi and reach Kutaisi International Airport.

Building the new railway to Kutaisi is part of the Government’s four-point reform agenda and Spatial Arrangement Plan, which aims at modernising infrastructural development in the country.

Kutaisi International Airport also known as David the Builder Kutaisi International Airport is located 250 km west of Tbilisi, in the third largest city in Georgia. It is one of three international airports currently in operation in Georgia, along with Tbilisi International Airport serving the Georgian capital and Batumi International Airport near the Adjara Black Sea resort.

Meanwhile, today the first internationally branded hotel Best Western hotel will open its doors in Kutaisi.

A three-star hotel will be located in the historical centre of Kutaisi and will consist of 40 standard rooms and five luxury rooms. The hotel facilities will also include three conference rooms, indoor and outdoor cafes and restaurants.
