Georgian children’s clothes brand Spilow is now selling in the British Igloo Kids store’s spring-summer collection.

Igloo has also asked the Spilow team to send them a collection of clothes on the theme of books as they are preparing for today's World Book Day.

Established by three Georgian friends last year, Spilow produces clothing for children aged 1-12.

One of the three friends, Sopho Chkhaidze, told Agenda.ge that the idea of establishing the brand was born after the three mothers realised there were no Georgian brands made specifically for children.

Chkhaidze said Spilow has a different style from international brands available on the local market. She said their priority is to make clothes from natural fabric.

Spilow has two lines: vintage clothes - made from cotton, wool, velvet, flannel and other natural clothes, and basics - also made from natural fabric with Georgian letters, promoting the country’s unique alphabet.

Although the brand does not yet have its own webpage, the team accepts orders from its official Facebook page. Soon the collections will also be available at www.buyers.ge.

The Spilow team plans to expand production. As Chkhaidze says, the young company wants to open their own sewing factory in the near future.

Currently the friends produce clothes on their own budget, but they want to participate in state projects that support start-up development.
