Georgian citizens are being given an opportunity to travel to Montenegro without a visa from June 14 to October 31.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry announced the news in a press release issued today.

Georgians who will travel to Montenegro during this period will be able to stay there for maximum 30 days.

"This decision was preceded by a meeting of Georgian Ambassador Zaza Kandelaki with the leadership of Montenegro’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, including the director of the Consular Department, Selim Lika,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said in the press release.

Ordinarily, Georgians traveling to Montenegro as tourists for a short stay need to obtain a visa at the Bulgarian Embassy in Georgia.

Those who want to stay in Montenegro longer than 90 days need to get a long-term visa at the Montenegrin Embassy in Moscow, Russia.

A visa is not normally required only for those Georgian citizens who have a Schengen visa in their passport and intend to stay in Montenegro no longer than seven days.
