Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili hosted Chairman of the Parliament of Montenegro Ivan Brajovic today to discuss prospects of stepping up bilateral relations.

Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, progress on this path, and the country’s implemented and ongoing reforms were the main topics of the discussion at today’s meeting.

PM Kvirikashvili thanked Brajovic for participating in EU and Partners—Embracing Diversity for Stronger Unity, an international parliamentary conference in Tbilisi. He also thanked him "for the consistent support” for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

We appreciate this very much. I would also like to thank you for supporting Georgia’s position in different international forums, including UN platform, where we annually put forward our IDP resolution, so we appreciate your position very much. Most importantly, we would like to congratulate you on successfully joining NATO. This is a path Georgia has chosen, and it is a great driving motivation for us to follow this path consistently,” said Kvirikashvili.

The Chairman of the Parliament of Montenegro reaffirmed support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

Sincerity and friendship is not something that someone can fake, and we feel that there is true friendship between our two states. I thank you for your congratulations on our membership in NATO. Once again, I assure you that Montenegro will always support your territorial integrity. We will always be there to help you in that regard. I am truly pleased that you have chosen the path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration,” Brajovic stated.
