The 13th season of Tbilisi Fashion Week (TFW) is underway in Georgia’s capital, showing glamourous creations, colourful ensembles and latest trends to fashionistas.
TFW launched yesterday and will feature a mix of well-known Georgian designers as well as newcomers before the season ends on April 3.
The latest TFW will present designers’ Autumn/Winter 2016-2017 collections. More than 20 shows will be held during the fashion week.
The main venue for this years’ TFW is Rooms Hotel Tbilisi, where a long catwalk, backstage and press room have been arranged. The shows will also be held at the state Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Marjanishvili Theatre.
At yesterday’s opening show models sashayed down the catwalk wearing velvet clothing in bold colours, mainly grey, green, red and blue. The collection was created by Lako Bukia, who used leather in her collection to portray strength and confidence in the wearer of her clothes.
