The 14th season of Tbilisi Fashion Week (TFW) is underway in Georgia’s capital, showing glamourous creations, colourful ensembles and latest trends to fashionistas.

TFW officially launched on October 19 and will feature a mix of Georgian designers as well as newcomers before the season ends on October 23.

A special display of vintage dresses once owned and worn by the late co-founder of Georgia’s acclaimed Sukhishvilebi National Ballet has opened this year’s Tbilisi Fashion Week, while the day ended with an impressive performance from CHUBIKA.

The main venue for this years’ TFW is the Rooms Hotel. Here, designers’ show rooms, a lounge and catwalk are arranged for guests to visit and view.

Journalists, photographers and industry insiders attended TFW events. This season’s media partners included Vogue (Italia, United Kingdom, Russia, Japan), Elle Russia, Barneys NEW YORK, Fabulous Muses Blog, Harper’s BAZAAR Kazakhstan, British GQ, END magazine, ACHTUNG MODE, Lufthansa Magazine, Planet Fashion, Nargis Azerbaijan, Fashion To Max and www.le21eme.com.

This year’s TFW was supported by Tbilisi City Hall, Georgia’s Ministry of Economy, MAC cosmetics, Georgian National Tourism Administration and the Entrepreneurship Development Agency. The general sponsor was Tbilisi Mall shopping centre.

TFW was established in 2009 during the Tbilisoba festival, held each October. The fashion event is held twice a year, in spring and autumn, and attended by local and international industry professionals.

TFW is considered one of the main fashion events in the Caucasus. The event supported the development of the local fashion industry, introduced new faces to the industry and promoted the export of Georgian fashion pieces abroad.
