Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze says Germany "completely supports” Georgia to obtain visa-free travel with European Union (EU) countries.
Janelidze met his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin earlier today, where he was reminded of Germany’s strong support for Georgia.
Georgia’s progress to integrate into the Euro-Atlantic space, the country’s visa liberalisation expectations and ways to enhance bilateral relations between Germany and Georgia were high on the agenda of the meeting.
It was stressed during the meeting that Georgia will have Germany’s compete support to receive visa-free travel with the EU,” Janelidze said.

Additionally, the duo discussed the current situation in Georgia’s breakaway regions, to which Janelidze thanked Steinmeier for his country’s continued support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the end of the meeting Janelidze highlighted the importance of Germany’s support for Georgia as it carried out a range of democratic reforms and for supporting Georgia as it moved towards integrating into the EU and other international organisations.
The Georgian official, who launched his official meetings in Germany yesterday, was scheduled to return to Georgia tomorrow.
