Georgia’s capital is cementing itself as a hub for talented fashion designers and a centre for the ever-evolving fashion industry, so when thinking of fashion shows it's best to have Tbilisi in mind.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) has returned to Tbilisi for the fourth time, bringing local and international designers, bloggers, buyers, fashionistas to join the six-day celebration of fashion.
As well as showcasing the latest fashion trends, this season 58 special guests will attend MBFW in Georgia's capital; among them will be David Koma, a Georgian fashion designer based in London, UK and English musician Eliot Sumner, also known as Coco, who is the daughter of musician Sting and actress Trudie Styler.
MBFW launched yesterday with a workshop led by renowned photographer Brian Griffin, while today it officially opened with a runway show by local designer Datuna.
The Tbilisi State Music and Drama Theatre hosted the first show of this season’s MBFW, while the main venue will traditionally be the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) Tbilisi.
The fashion days will continue until November 8, during which more than 40 local and international designer labels will be showcased to the public.
Let’s Turn Georgia’s Fashion Industry into a Profitable Business will be the motto of this season’s MBFW in Tbilisi.
