The inaugural Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is in full swing in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi.

For the first time in Tbilisi designers, artists and creative minds from different parts of the world have descended on Georgia to showcase their vision and their latest fashion trends.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week started on May 1 and will continue until May 6, during which more than 24 local and international designer labels will be showcased to the public.

The creations of local designer Datuna Sulikashvili were the first to be presented – models walked down the runway at Expo Georgia on Friday evening on the opening night wearing his red, white and black collection.

As promised, Sulikashvili’s collection was "very feminine” with long dresses and mixed attire made of flowing materials with light and heavily patterned materials contrasting each other.

The opening show and the couple that have been presented during the first three days of the fashion week were attended by Georgian celebrities, industry insiders and guests from Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as journalists and bloggers from all over Europe.

Several Ukrainian and Russian designers will also feature alongside Georgian designers at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Yesterday, day two of the week, featured the collection of Georgian designer Anuka Keburia, Ukraine’s Przhonskaya, Georgia’s Atelier Kikala, Georgia’s Lako Bukia and Ukraine’s Poustovit.

Meanwhile today, day three, hosted the international fashion design contest BENEXT. The day will be closed by a runway show by Georgian designer Tamuna Ingorokva.
