Final list reveals how many people can vote on October 8

Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has released its final election list outlining the number of people eligible to vote in the October 8 Parliamentary Elections.
Today CEC spokesperson Ana Mikeladze said 3,513,884 voters were eligible to vote on Saturday for who they want to run the country.
This list was final and ready to be sent to election commissions of each district across the country.
Mikeladze said 11 exceptional voting precincts would operate on October 8. Up to 3,000 people will vote at those special polling stations.
"The law offers a detailed list of people who should vote at an exceptional precinct. This list included representatives of the Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry and special services,” Mikeladze said.
Ten of the 11 exceptional voting stations would open in jails throughout Georgia and one would operate at Khoni medical centre for inmates in Georgia’s west.
Soldiers and other servicemen will be able to vote at a regular voting station nearest to their base.
In total there will be 3,634 regular polling stations in 73 majoritarian constituencies of the country.
A further 56 polling stations will open abroad. Of these, two will be in Afghanistan for Georgian peacekeepers.
NDI sends international mission to observe elections in Georgia
The main United States (US) branch of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) is sending a high level international mission to observe the October 8 Parliamentary Elections in Georgia.
This afternoon the Central Election Commission (CEC) released a mid-term report reflecting updated voter figures, new election data and introduced new services that would make the election process easier for voters.
